The Village has participated in your Youth Program with me serving as Village Administrator for the past two years. It has been my experience that the youth of today are made of a vast set of skills, abilities, needs and agendas. There are many instances where our youth program employees have been placed into various levels of our workforce, some were capable of leadership roles, while others were trained in a variety of labor skill sets. The Village has benefited immensely having had the opportunity to mentor, work beside and create lifelong friendships with those who have participated in your program. My staff and I have learned today’s workforce are not yesterday’s employees, and in many ways our community will benefit from this new generation workforce. I have also learned that work remains to be done on both sides of the aisle to become better at what we do. This youth program is a great benefit to our youth and community.
